Spirit of goodness... Gudhi-Padawaa... Hi Dears, Tuesday,16 March was d first day of Hindu Calender... 'Gudhi' is d symbol of victory....... It is raised to memorize all time, GR8 winners... like Sri Ramchandra... In short, an age-old battle of Good versus bad, whenever n wherever one thing was a constant feather... D winner has to have all positive traits, setting an example for common-people... to fight for better values... to fight for principles... to fight against injustice... to stop d tyrant Rule of such Rulers... "Yadaa Yadaa Hi Dharmasya, Glanir Bhavati Bhaarat, Abhyutthanam Adharmasya, Tadaatmanam Srujaamyaham...." As written in 'Gita', some 'Avatar' would come up with proper solution to all d problems... N then there will be 'Raam-Raajya'.. meaning Rule of justice by good-king/ good person, for betterment of all... Now a days there is a Total-change of scene! V don't know who is so-called-good-one or who is so-called-baddie! Bcoz there is no distict line between Black-n-White... but there R shades of Grey! Any person, once he grabs d hold of a 'chair' or a 'portfolio' or a 'seat', changes over-night! Even faster than a Chameleon! People as it is, have a very little choice to sellect...or to ellect... But whoever they find of 'lesser-criminal-background' or with slightly better qualifications as compared to others... wins! n then V hear either he had changed his party or his views or his 'forth-right-opinions' within No-time! Then they take out 'big' processions to celebrate their "Wins"... It generally is a boastful exhibition of wasting public-monies... this all is bit confusing... Friends, there r some things V can change n there r some, V better Not waste our energy... even thinking about it! So let us focus on what can be achieved... Gudhi-Padavaa is one of d most auspicious days of 3-n-a-half-Muhurtas! It means, to begin any work without bothering about d end-results... N be assured of good results of GReat efforts! Mumbai is one very 'dusty' city.... Remember 'Heat n Dust'...? V need to do cleaning n dusting day-in-n-day-out... so detailed n thorough cleaning of evry nook-n-corner of our house n office is best way to start this festival-day! V can plan of having some 'Green-Guests' at our house... meaning bring some saplings n plant them in some earthen-ware beautiful pots or ceramic-plant-holders... Do not worry, even if V don't have some free land to plant them... V can have a tiny kitchen-garden near kitchen-window-box ... I have planted Mint...as i like it's minty-flavour! Mint is a very easy one to plant, at home! D other day, for d preparation of 'Paani-Puri', my cook got me a big bunch of 'Pudina'... whatever was extraa, with bit-thicker-stems, i inserted them, in one empty pot, full of soil....thinking they would not go dry or 'die' if kept them in moist soil... N Bingo! After few days, i saw some new tiny, delicate leaves of mint emerging from d thickest-stems! That sight gave me such a Gr8 joy... those light-Green-little-wonders, made my day! Now i have a Tub-full of Mint plants.... Let me share my little secret... My day does not start if i don't go n observe them.... Every day there is some thing new n more beautiful, which is beyond description! Am fond of non-fussy plants... like Tulsi plants... I have them plenty in number, in every window of each room! they R sweet little Angels ... 'quietly-spreading-spiritual-vibrations'... All d time! They bring Oxygen into d atmosphere that is how they 'Purify' d surroundings.... They have tremendous 'medicinal' values.. There R so many varieties like "Shyaam-Tulsi".. which is black,as d name indicates... It is more effective n useful than d other variety which is "Shwet-Tulsi".. as d name indicates, whitish in color n slightly milder yet good n useful! After taking a bath, when one is physically as well as mentally 'clean-n-fresh', one can go near Tulsi-plant to water it! Or worship with feelings of .. gratitude! V need to be careful about d water, whether it is pure n clean...n not from d bottles V drink, water from... V should have a separate container, either copper or glass vessel to water Tulsi... Never add anything other than pure-water.. Or else Tulsi-plant will dry up! even birds n insects n animals know about, useful leaves of Tulsi! In my house, tender leaves of Tulsi, if not protected, Sparrow like birds will feast on them! So i have to leave one Tulsi-plant, for them! N all others will have 'Iron-net' for protection.... Sparrows also love 'Coriander' leaves... if not protected in d early stage of growing, V will end up with empty pots! I like 'herbal tea'... specially in Monsoon season when Rains R pouring, hot 'Cuppa' of 'Ginger-Lemon-grass' Tea is d best to have with some hot snack! that-is-why d china-grass n Lemon-Grass have entered in my little-kitchen-Garden along with Ginger! Also there is a special place for d gift-with-love from one of my friends... a small plant of 'Curry-leaves' or 'Kadhi-Limba' or 'Kadhi-Patta' as generally called in Mumbai... whenever i want to make 'Chivda' 'Pohe' or 'Kadhi', n all those Maharashrian recipes.. or some South-Indian-Recipes, i get nice n fresh curry leaves from that little plant! Every day, with d 'aroma' of curry-leaves i remember d 'fragrance' of my friendship! That-is-why it is my one of d favourites... Last month when i went to Palghar, for some work.. while returning V passed d Palghar-Market... Since my sons were not with me, i could do some shopping... Being a lady n no-one to obstruct, i went on buying Onions, Potatoes... Black-Grapes, Pomegranate n d list is very long! My driver is a young-energetic-boy... He helped me picking n buying good stuff! In over-enthusiasm, bcoz of cheaper rates, V bought every thing extra! As Onions were available at less than half d rate of Mumbai-market, i bought some 5 kgs! After say 10-days, they all started sprouting! so i did d quick-thinking n distributed them generously amongst my neighbors n friends... I potted some of them in d little kitchen-garden... Since they were very eager to sprout, with d proper medium of soil, water n Sunlight, their growth was amazing! U wouldn't believe it, but last full month, i had spring onions in every single recipe, that was cooked at my house... in d process, i hav 'discovered' some very-interesting-new-recipes! all credit to d sprouting onions n my greed! Friends, there R some 8 nos of GR8-doctors-of-d-world- 1)Sunlight... 2) Water... 3)Rest... 4)Air.. 5)Exercise.. 6)Diet.. 7)Friends.. 8)Self-confidence... Let us maintain them at all stages of Life... for better Health n Abundance! Also V should be careful about these things- 1-letter word'i', let us avoid it or enquire(who am i?)! 2-letter word 'we', let us use it more often! 3-letter word 'ego', let us kill it,time n again! 4-letter word 'love', let us value it! 5-letter word 'smile', let us have it on our lips all-d-time! 6-letter word 'family', let us care for it! 7-letter word 'friends', let us have fun-n-friendliness! 8-letter word 'relation', let us maintain it! All celebrations of festivals R kind-of-reminders... for us To respect d humanity... n spirit of Goodness of festivals... that promises serenity & harmony n leaves us, feeling happy n peaceful... to face ups-n-downs of life in general! This is Tima wishing U, d Serenity n Harmony... Shlok of d day- Tulsi-Mahatmya Vrundayai Tulasi Devyai| Priyaayai Keshavasyacha| VishnuBhaktihi Prade Devi| SatvaVatyai Namo Namaha|| Tip of d day- To combat d heat of summer-season, every day, Have a fresh, Tender-Coconut-water, preferably after daily-break-fast. For cleansing n nourishing, U may apply little quantity of d same,to d face. U may apply d extract from flesh-of-Tender-coconut to d scalp n hair, leave it for 15 minutes n then wash with Luke-warm water, for better-shine-n-growth of d hair. |
